New Delhi, Apr 5 (APAC Media): The Centre has empanelled IAS Laya Madduri to hold the post of Joint Secretary or an equivalent position in the Government of India.
The empanelment was announced through an official notification by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
She is a 2010-batch IAS officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre.
Previous Postings
Prior to her move to the Centre, Madduri served in several key administrative roles in Assam. She was Secretary to the Government of Assam in the Finance Department and also served as Managing Director of the Assam Financial Corporation. Her experience in district administration includes tenures as Deputy Commissioner of Cachar and Dibrugarh districts, as well as Assistant Commissioner in Nagaon.
Key Initiatives
Madduri’s field postings were marked by a strong focus on public-oriented governance and grassroots engagement. During her tenure in Cachar, she launched the “Let’s Learn Together” initiative, aimed at improving early-grade learning outcomes through community participation and targeted interventions.
She also spearheaded the “Swachh Sundar Silchar” campaign, which emphasized urban sanitation, effective waste management, and citizen involvement in cleanliness drives. These initiatives gained recognition for blending administrative efficiency with active public engagement.
Her empanelment reflects her administrative experience and contributions to governance at the state level.
