New Delhi: The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has appointed two senior IAS officers to key roles. As per the official notification, IAS Deepak Soni (2011 batch) has been posted as Director in the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Delhi.
The appointment has been made under the Central Staffing Scheme for a tenure of five years. Soni’s posting is expected to strengthen the administrative setup of the Health and Family Welfare Department, which plays a key role in shaping and implementing public health policies at the national level.
In another appointment, IAS Sudhansh Pant (1991 batch) has been given additional charge as Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan). Pant is currently serving as Secretary, Department of Social Justice and Empowerment. He will hold the additional responsibility during the leave of IAS V Vidyavathi (1991 batch), the regular secretary of the department.
Both appointments reflect routine administrative arrangements by the DoPT to ensure the smooth functioning of important departments and the effective delivery of government programmes.
