Noida, May 22 (APAC Media): The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) will soon begin offering member services through WhatsApp as part of efforts to strengthen digital outreach and improve access to social security services, Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said.
Addressing a review meeting on labour reforms and digital initiatives, the minister said the new system would help EPFO subscribers receive faster support and easier access to services related to provident fund accounts, claims and verification processes.
“EPFO is working towards integrating WhatsApp services to make communication simpler, faster and more accessible for crores of subscribers across the country,” Mandaviya added.
Officials said the WhatsApp-based platform is expected to assist users with Aadhaar authentication, claim status tracking, Direct Benefit Transfer activation and grievance redressal. The service may also support multilingual communication to improve accessibility for users in different regions.
The minister said the initiative is part of the government’s broader push towards technology-driven governance and citizen-centric service delivery. He added that reforms introduced in the labour and employment sector are aimed at reducing delays, increasing transparency and ensuring faster resolution of complaints.
Mandaviya also reviewed the progress of digital platforms, including Shram Suvidha and Samadhan portals, which have been upgraded to improve compliance monitoring and grievance handling mechanisms.
According to the Labour Ministry, EPFO has taken several measures in recent months to streamline claim settlement processes and reduce pending cases through automation and digital verification systems.
