Dehradun, APAC Media, June 23: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved financial and administrative sanctions worth ₹10.08 crore for development works across multiple districts of the state.
The initiative focuses on religious tourism, road connectivity, and basic infrastructure upgrades in rural and semi-urban regions of Uttarakhand.
Regional Development Push In Uttarakhand
Officials said the projects aim to accelerate development in remote areas and improve access to essential public services.
The plan also supports tourism-led economic growth across the state.
Key Temple and Pilgrimage Projects
A major share of funds has been allocated for temple development and restoration under structured master plans.
The largest allocation of ₹1.42 crore has been sanctioned for the integrated development of Shri Harichand Devta Temple in Didihat, Pithoragarh.
Another ₹98.25 lakh has been approved for the restoration and beautification of the historic Gopeshwar Mahadev Temple, including ghat and check dam construction in Someshwar.
Other major works include ₹81.43 lakh for a pedestrian path to Nanda Temple in Dharchula, ₹75 lakh for Shiv Temple in Lohaghat, and ₹63.39 lakh for Btkeshwar Temple in Kharkdesh Patti.
₹53.51 lakh has been allocated for development of Shiva Temple in Bhikiyasain, while ₹25 lakh will be used for Maa Kardai Temple in Motyuraj village.
These projects aim to strengthen spiritual tourism and cultural heritage conservation in Uttarakhand.
Road Connectivity Projects
The state government has also cleared key road infrastructure works to improve rural access.
Important approvals include internal roads in Loharganv (Pithoragarh), blacktopping of the Sankarsain–Barsila–Bagad motor road (Pauri), and construction of a road to BRC Kotli village.
The Janki Bridge–Chauraasi Kutiya stretch in Yamkeshwar will be developed as “Beatles Street.” Additionally, ₹1.42 crore has been allocated for road development works in Pithoragarh and Dharchula.
These projects are expected to significantly improve last-mile connectivity and rural mobility.
Public Welfare Projects
Several civic infrastructure works have also been approved.
Community dharamshalas will be constructed in Nainital and Dhari, while 50 hand pumps in Someshwar (Almora) will improve drinking water access.
Repair and maintenance works have also been sanctioned for Shri Guru Nanak Public Girls Inter College, Dehradun, strengthening education infrastructure.
