Guwahati, July 24 (APAC Media): In a major bureaucratic reshuffle in Assam, Senior officer IAS Syedain Abbasi has been assigned the additional charge of Special Chief Secretary, Irrigation Department.

The reshuffle involves 24 IAS and ACS officers across key departments, district administrations and state institutions.

The changes, notified by the Department of Personnel, have been made in the interest of public service and will take effect immediately.

The reshuffle covers several senior bureaucrats, district commissioners and secretariat officials, reflecting the government’s focus on strengthening governance and administrative efficiency.

IAS Syedain Abbasi Gets Irrigation Charge

Senior IAS officer Syedain Abbasi has been given additional charge as Special Chief Secretary, Irrigation Department.

Abbasi is currently serving as Special Chief Secretary in the Assam government and oversees the Public Health Engineering Department (PHE) and the Water Resources Department.

He has been relieved of the additional charge of the Housing and Urban Affairs Department.

Dr Om Prakash Gets Key Secretary Roles

IAS Dr Om Prakash has been appointed Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Assam in the Environment & Forest Department and the Skill, Employment & Entrepreneurship Department.

He is currently serving as Managing Director of the Samagra Shiksha Axom Mission.

With this appointment, Dr Om Prakash will oversee two key departments linked to environmental conservation, skill development and employment generation in the state.
