Patna, June 1 (APAC Media): Bihar is preparing to roll out the next wave of technological transformation. Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary announced that the state government will soon introduce a dedicated Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy.
This is a broader plan towards developing Bihar as a major AI hub.
The announcement was made during the inauguration of the Bihar AI Summit 2026 at the Urja Auditorium in Patna.
CM outlined an ambitious vision to use AI for governance, public services, policing and economic development.

“Bihar will continue to work towards becoming an AI hub, and the government will soon bring an AI policy. Through AI, Bihar will become a leading state in the digital revolution—this is our resolve”, said CM Samrat.
CM urged all government departments to include the usage of AI as much possible. This will also ensure transparency in welfare schemes and improve public service delivery.
CM mentioned about ‘Sahyog Shivirs’, grievance redressal camps. He said that AI technology will help in quick resolution of public complaints.
He stressed that any complaints received at ‘Sahyog Shivirs’ must be resolved within 30 days.
In case of failure to do so, the officer concerned would face suspension on the 31st day by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
Beyond technology, the government announced a series of development initiatives aimed at boosting Bihar’s long-term growth.
He announced the completion of proposed 125-km Ganga Expressway project, estimated at Rs 30,000 crore, within the next three years.
This will be carried out under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.
He further said the long-pending Vikramshila University project would finally take shape during the current financial year.
Apart from this, degree colleges would be opened in 211 blocks from July onward and Model schools across all 534 blocks of Bihar.
According to the initiative, 10 such schools would be built up in Patna, and five each would come in municipal corporation towns.
This includes Gaya, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Purnea, Bihar Sharif, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Hajipur, Motihari, and Chhapra.
CM mentioned that Bihar is focused on generating more employment opportunities within the state.
This will help in reducing migration and encourage skilled youth to build their careers at home.
Artificial intelligence is also expected to strengthen law enforcement and crime monitoring systems, making governance more responsive and data driven.
