Patna, June 1 (APAC Media): Bihar is set to receive a major industrial boost, with 19 new factories worth ₹928 crore approved across the state.
These are expected to create around 2,200 direct employment opportunities and strengthen the state’s growing industrial ecosystem.
The approvals were granted during a meeting of the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) held at the Industries Department on Friday.
This meeting was chaired by Industries Director Mukul Kumar Gupta. It lasted nearly three hours and cleared several projects under Stage 1 and Stage 2 approval processes.
Major Companies to Invest in Bihar
Several prominent companies have received approval to establish manufacturing and industrial units in Bihar.
These include:
– Ultratech Cement Limited’s Banka Cement Works Unit
– Green Excel Private Limited, Somayan Remedies Private Limited
– Bajrangbali Packaging Private Limited
– BKSS Enterprises Private Limited
– Ashrafi Devi Cold Storage Private Limited, and Top Ten Enterprises.
The investments will happen in multiple sectors, including cement manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, packaging, food processing, and cold storage infrastructure.
Officials believe these projects will help diversify Bihar’s industrial base while attracting further investments in the future.
Darbhanga to Get Modern Makhana Processing Unit
Among the approved projects, one of the most notable is a modern makhana processing unit.
This has been proposed by Makhayo Foods Private Limited in the Donar area of Darbhanga.
The project will be developed at a cost of ₹27.44 crore on approximately 2.20 acres of land.
Besides generating around 300 jobs, the facility will introduce advanced processing, packaging, and value-addition techniques for makhana, a crop for which Bihar is nationally renowned.
This project is expected to directly benefit nearly 5,000 farmers. It will improve market access, increase product value, and boost demand for locally produced makhana.
Boost for Employment and Local Economy
The approval of these projects comes as Bihar continues its efforts to attract industries and generate employment opportunities for its growing workforce.
The new factories are expected to create jobs across various skill levels, providing opportunities for local youth while reducing dependence on migration for employment.
In addition to direct jobs, experts believe the projects will generate indirect employment through logistics, transportation, raw material supply, and support services.
