New Delhi, June 24 (APAC Media): The Delhi Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, has approved the ‘Delhi Building and Construction Workers Health Scheme’ aimed at providing comprehensive healthcare coverage to registered construction workers and their families.
The initiative is expected to benefit nearly 2.70 lakh registered workers and around 10 lakh family members across the national capital.Â

Under the scheme, beneficiaries will have access to free healthcare services, including annual health check-ups, through empanelled hospitals and mobile medical units.
Eligible family members, including spouses, children, and parents, will also be covered under the programme.Â
The government has announced that all medical services will be provided on a cashless basis to ensure that workers do not face financial hardship while seeking treatment.
Speaking on the decision, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that construction workers play a vital role in Delhi’s development and that strengthening their health and social security remains a priority for the government.
Under the scheme, each registered worker will be eligible for medical treatment of up to Rs 2 lakh, while family coverage will extend up to Rs 10 lakh at empanelled healthcare facilities.
