New Delhi, June 24(CXO Media): Realme India CEO Michael Guo has stepped down from his position due to health-related concerns.
The development comes at a crucial time for Realme and its parent company Oppo, which is carrying out a broader restructuring of its global smartphone business. Realme confirmed Guo’s exit and said the company respects his contributions during his tenure.
Guo’s departure coincides with Oppo’s ongoing efforts to streamline operations across its smartphone brands. The company has been integrating key functions of Realme and OnePlus under a unified product and operations framework to reduce overlap in areas such as product development, marketing and after-sales services.
The restructuring has been underway in multiple markets and is aimed at improving operational efficiency across Oppo’s brand portfolio.
In India, the integration process has moved at a slower pace due to regulatory and legal challenges involving Oppo. Reports have also indicated workforce reductions across certain sales support and after-sales service functions as part of the transition.
Guo’s exit adds another leadership change during a period when smartphone brands are reassessing costs, organizational structures and growth strategies in one of the world’s largest mobile phone markets.
While Realme has not announced a successor yet, the leadership transition will be closely watched as the company navigates changes within Oppo’s broader restructuring plan.
