Patna, Oct 15(APAC Media): CtrlS Datacenters plans to invest ₹10,000 crore in Bihar to build a 150 MW AI data centre in Bodh Gaya. The announcement comes as the company opens a ₹400 crore data centre in Patna.
The company has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with the Bihar government for the proposed Bodh Gaya project. The investment would expand its data centre operations in eastern India as demand for AI computing and cloud services grows.
CtrlS Bihar Investment: What The Patna Facility Offers
Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary inaugurated the new Patna facility on October 13, 2026. Located in the Patliputra Industrial Area, the centre has an initial IT capacity of 12 MW.
It will support AI and cloud computing workloads for businesses, government departments, hyperscalers and technology companies across Bihar and eastern India. CtrlS said the facility includes disaster-resilient infrastructure, security systems and energy-efficient technology.
AI Data Centre Expansion In India
CtrlS founder and CEO Sridhar Pinnapureddy said the company’s investment plans were supported by Bihar’s policies, business environment and incentives.
The company also plans to set up more than 20 edge data centres in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities across India. It currently operates 19 data centres across nine Indian markets and aims to develop more than 4.4 GW of capacity by 2030.
The proposed Bodh Gaya facility would add to Bihar’s data centre capacity, but the company has not announced a construction timeline or completion date for the project.
