New Delhi, July 1 (APAC Media): The Ministry of Tourism signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Google India Pvt. Ltd. to strengthen the digital promotion of India’s tourism destinations through advanced technologies, artificial intelligence, data-driven insights, and capacity building.
The MoU was exchanged in the presence of Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, in New Delhi.
The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism and Google India in several strategic areas aimed at enhancing India’s tourism ecosystem.
Key focus areas of the partnership include:
- Digital promotion of India’s tourism destinations
- Knowledge sharing and strategic insights
- Capacity building and training programmes
- Use of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies
- Enhancing visitor engagement and digital outreach
The collaboration will leverage Google’s expertise across its digital ecosystem to improve the visibility of India’s tourism destinations, travel experiences, and cultural heritage among domestic and international travellers.
The partnership is non-commercial, non-binding, and non-exclusive, with no financial implications for either side.
Speaking on the occasion, Shekhawat said, “Digital technologies have the potential to create immersive experiences that can showcase the glory and grandeur of India’s cultural sites to audiences across the world. By harnessing cutting-edge digital technologies, we can transform the way travellers discover, experience, and engage with India’s rich cultural and natural heritage.”
As part of the partnership, Google’s data and insights on global travel trends, traveler behavior, and digital engagement patterns will support evidence-based tourism promotion strategies. The collaboration will also include training programmes for ministry officials in digital marketing, campaign optimisation, content creation, and artificial intelligence.
