Noida, Aug 5 (APAC Media): The Indian rupee traded at ₹95.07 against the US dollar on Wednesday, slipping from its previous level of ₹94.97 as market participants remained cautious ahead of the Reserve Bank of India’s monetary policy announcement.
The domestic currency witnessed limited movement in early trade as investors awaited the central bank’s policy signals on interest rates, inflation outlook, and liquidity conditions.
Forex traders said the rupee’s direction would depend largely on the RBI’s policy stance, global dollar movement, crude oil prices, and foreign fund flows.
The currency market has been closely monitoring external factors, including changes in global risk sentiment and demand for the US dollar.
A decline in crude oil prices and a softer dollar environment have provided some support to the rupee in recent sessions.
However, analysts said continued uncertainty in global markets and import-related dollar demand could keep pressure on the domestic currency.
Market participants are now focusing on the RBI’s policy commentary for indications of the central bank’s approach to managing inflation and ensuring currency stability.
The rupee’s movement in the coming sessions is expected to be influenced by the RBI’s decision, global economic cues, and trends in foreign investment flows.
