Greater Noida, August 5 (APAC Media): Engineers India Limited (EIL) has inaugurated a new Skill Training Centre in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.Â
Established under Project Shakti, the company’s flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, the centre is designed to promote sustainable livelihoods and financial independence among women from underserved communities.
The facility was inaugurated by EIL Chairman and Managing Director Atul Gupta in the presence of Sanjay Jindal, Director (Finance), and R.K. Singh, Director (HR).Â
As part of the initiative, EIL has funded advanced tailoring and garment finishing equipment to provide trainees with hands-on learning using modern industry-standard machines.
Industry-focused training for employment and self-reliance
The centre has the capacity to train 300 underprivileged women every year through structured courses in industrial tailoring, embroidery, and garment finishing. The curriculum combines practical training with technical instruction, enabling participants to develop skills aligned with the needs of India’s expanding textile and apparel industry.
Upon successful completion of the programme, trainees will receive formal certification, enhancing their prospects for employment while also encouraging self-employment through micro-enterprises.
Leadership Perspective
Speaking at the inauguration, the management highlighted that Project Shakti is focused on building long-term, self-sustaining livelihood models rather than providing short-term assistance. The initiative seeks to help women transition from informal household work to stable income-generating opportunities, particularly in peripheral urban regions such as Greater Noida.
The new Skill Training Centre further expands EIL’s CSR portfolio, which includes initiatives in skill development, education, healthcare infrastructure, and community development across the country, reinforcing the company’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable social progress.
