Bhopal, September 23 (APAC Media): The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, has approved financial proposals worth more than Rs 13,790 crore, covering sports infrastructure, irrigation, power procurement, judicial services, commercial taxes, and government facilities.
The Cabinet also approved the continuation of several schemes under the 16th Finance Commission period from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2031. Here are the key decisions:
1. Rs 962.50 Crore for Sports Complexes in 140 Seats
The Cabinet approved Rs 962.50 crore for construction and operation of Mukhyamantri Sports Complexes in 140 Assembly constituencies.
The complexes will provide grassroots sports facilities for young athletes. Permanent helipads will also be developed at the main grounds.
2. Nearly Rs 4,968 Crore for Three Irrigation Projects
Three major irrigation projects in Rajgarh and Neemuch received approval for continuation over the next five years:
- Suthalia Irrigation Project, Rajgarh
- Javad-Nimach Pressurised Micro Irrigation Project
- Parvati-Rinsi Irrigation Project, Rajgarh
Together, the projects are expected to expand irrigation capacity across more than 88,000 hectares.
3. 2,800 MW Thermal Power Procurement
The Cabinet approved the process to procure 2,800 MW of thermal power through competitive bidding.
The procurement will cover existing, under-construction and proposed thermal power projects in Madhya Pradesh.
4. Over Rs 4,000 Crore for Judicial Services by MP Cabinet
The Cabinet approved continuation of major judicial and legal schemes for 2026-27 to 2030-31, including:
- High Court: Rs 2,015.60 crore
- Family Courts: Rs 1,000 crore
- Gram Nyayalaya Scheme: Rs 554.61 crore
- Legal Aid and Legal Advice Board: Rs 524 crore
5. Rs 969.87 Crore for Commercial Tax Schemes
Six Commercial Tax Department schemes received a combined allocation of Rs 969.87 crore for the next five financial years.
The allocation covers e-Registry, stamp-related expenditure, departmental assets, land records modernisation and construction or expansion of district and sub-registrar offices.
6. 13 New Teaching Posts at Government Dental College Indore
The Cabinet approved 13 new teaching posts at Government Dental College, Indore.
The move will support the proposed increase in BDS seats from 63 to 100 and MDS seats from 35 to 44.
7. New Public Health Engineering Offices
New Public Health Engineering Department offices will be established in Maihar and Pandhurna, along with a Sub-Divisional Office in Chitrangi, Singrauli.
8. Focus on Infrastructure, Capacity Building
The MP Cabinet decisions cover multiple sectors, with a focus on expanding irrigation and sports infrastructure, strengthening judicial and administrative capacity, improving power availability and ensuring continuity of key government schemes during the next Finance Commission period.
