Bhopal, September 16 (APAC Media):Â The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, has approved an outlay of Rs 36,006.22 crore for the continuation of the centrally sponsored Samagra Shiksha Scheme in the state for five years from 2026-27 to 2030-31.
The education-related decision was part of a wider set of Cabinet approvals involving proposals worth more than Rs 42,490 crore across sectors including irrigation, transport, horticulture, administration and welfare.
Samagra Shiksha to Continue Till 2031
The approved funding will support school education from pre-primary to Class 12. The scheme focuses on improving learning outcomes, promoting equity and inclusion, reducing social and gender disparities, supporting vocational education and implementing the Right to Education Act.
It will also support teacher-training institutions such as the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) and District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs).
Rs 2,600 Crore for Irrigation Projects
The Cabinet also approved more than Rs 2,600 crore for three irrigation projects:
- Chitawad Major Irrigation Project, Ujjain: Rs 1,846 crore
- Gaund Major Irrigation Project, Singrauli: Rs 749 crore
- Chanderi Micro Irrigation Project, Ashoknagar: Rs 11 crore
Together, the projects are expected to create irrigation potential covering more than 1.27 lakh hectares.
Transport, Horticulture Schemes Get Funding
The Cabinet approved Rs 1,166 crore for the continuation of 11 Transport Department schemes. Another Rs 491 crore was approved for eight Horticulture Department schemes, which the government said are aimed at increasing farmers’ incomes.
New Posts Approved for Districts, Schools
The Cabinet also approved 21 new posts for mineral branch offices in the newly formed districts of Maihar, Mauganj, and Pandhurna.
In addition, 36 regular posts were approved for four upgraded schools in Anuppur and Shahdol.
The Cabinet also ratified an additional Rs 250 special assistance for beneficiaries of the Ladli Behna Scheme on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
The latest approvals cover a range of areas, with education receiving the largest allocation through the continuation of the Samagra Shiksha Scheme for the next five years.
