Mumbai, September 16 (APAC Media): On the occasion of World Ozone Day 2026, Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Kirti Vardhan Singh launched India’s Net Zero Portal and the National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC) Dashboard in Mumbai.
The two digital initiatives aim to strengthen transparency, coordination and evidence-based decision-making in India’s climate action efforts.
About the Net Zero Portal
The Net Zero Portal is a centralised digital platform designed for the voluntary registration and disclosure of Net Zero commitments by Indian entities across sectors.
Through the portal, participating entities can disclose their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, declare Net Zero targets and submit annual updates on their progress. The platform also allows entities to outline their pathways towards Net Zero, covering measures such as clean energy transition, energy efficiency, technological interventions and carbon removals, wherever applicable.
By bringing voluntary climate commitments onto a common platform, the initiative is expected to improve transparency and encourage credible, long-term climate planning. Entities that successfully declare their Net Zero targets will receive an acknowledgement from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC).
About the NAPCC Dashboard
The NAPCC Dashboard will provide a consolidated digital view of the implementation and progress of various National Missions under the NAPCC.
It will bring mission-related information and identified indicators together on a common platform, supporting inter-ministerial coordination and evidence-based assessment of climate action.
The dashboard will help track sectoral progress, identify implementation gaps and consolidate inputs from ministries and departments. It is also expected to strengthen the linkage between India’s domestic climate initiatives and its international climate commitments.
The launch reflects the government’s focus on technology-enabled governance, transparency and coordinated climate action.
