Bhopal, September 14 (APAC Media): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav has announced that the Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Bus Seva will be launched across the state from September 25, marking a major push to strengthen public transport and rural connectivity.
The scheme aims to provide safe, reliable, affordable and technology-enabled transport, with the government targeting connectivity to 75% of villages by 2030 in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
1,000+ Routes Planned in Madhya Pradesh
With Madhya Pradesh having around 5 lakh km of roads, the government plans to develop approximately 150 city, 450 intercity and 436 interstate routes based on surveys across all 55 districts.
The bus fleet will prioritise electric and CNG vehicles, equipped with CCTV cameras, GPS, panic buttons and real-time monitoring systems.
The service will operate under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, supported by Madhya Pradesh Yatri Parivahan and Infrastructure Limited and an Intelligent Transport Management System.
The broader plan includes modern bus terminals, depots and stops, along with digital ticketing and real-time passenger information.
Focus on Digital, Green Mobility
MPYPIL has also signed an MoU with Rapido to improve first- and last-mile connectivity, with an initial pilot planned in Bhopal and Indore.
The Chief Minister also launched the MP Mobility Innovation Challenge 2026 to encourage technology-driven solutions in areas including AI-enabled mobility, green transport and inclusive connectivity.
Meanwhile, Eka Mobility is setting up an electric bus manufacturing plant at Pithampur with an annual capacity of 5,000 buses.
