New Delhi, September 2(APAC Media): Bharti Airtel has elevated Rashim Kapoor to the role of Deputy Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Technology and Transformation, expanding his responsibilities across the telecom operator’s technology and network transformation initiatives.
Rashim Kapoor Takes On Expanded Technology Role
Kapoor has taken charge of the new role this month, following his tenure as Deputy Chief Technology Officer for Mobile and Broadband Networks, a position he has held since April 2025.
In his expanded mandate, Kapoor will oversee technology strategy, transformation initiatives and network digitisation across Airtel’s telecom operations. His role comes at a time when telecom operators are investing heavily in network modernisation and digital infrastructure to support growing data consumption and evolving customer requirements.
Experience Across Airtel’s Network Operations
Kapoor has held several senior technology and network leadership positions at Bharti Airtel. His previous roles include Executive Vice President – Networks and Senior Vice President – Core Networks.
Over the course of his tenure, he has been involved in areas including core network operations, services engineering, network security and infrastructure strategy. His experience across these functions is expected to support Airtel’s broader focus on building a more agile and digitally driven network architecture.
Focus On Network Transformation
Kapoor’s elevation comes as Bharti Airtel continues to strengthen its technology infrastructure amid the expansion of 5G networks, increasing data traffic and the growing adoption of digital services.
The new responsibility is expected to place greater emphasis on network digitisation, technology transformation and the evolution of Airtel’s core infrastructure. The move also highlights the growing importance of technology leadership as Indian telecom companies work towards improving network performance, scalability and operational efficiency.
