New Delhi, September 2 (APAC Media): Senior 1995-batch Rajasthan cadre IAS officer Rajeev Singh Thakur has been appointed Chief Secretary of Manipur following the Centre’s approval of his inter-cadre deputation from Rajasthan to Manipur.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the deputation by relaxing the existing policy provisions. Thakur will continue in Manipur until June 30, 2029, his scheduled date of superannuation.
He will take charge as Chief Secretary (DP/Cabinet/Planning) and will also hold additional charge of Chief Vigilance Commissioner and Principal Resident Commissioner, Manipur Bhawan, New Delhi.
Senior Administrator With Field Experience
The proposal was moved by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) after curtailing Thakur’s ongoing central deputation.
A significant part of Thakur’s career has been in field administration in Rajasthan. He has served as Sub-Divisional Officer in Pali and Rajsamand, Additional District Collector in Jaipur, and District Collector in Banswara, Bhilwara, Alwar, Karauli and Sri Ganganagar.
His appointment comes as the Manipur administration continues to focus on restoring peace, normalcy and effective governance amid the state’s ongoing challenges.
