Detailed text of his address –
We follow a comprehensive approach in terms of providing primary, secondary and tertiary cares. There are certain gaps which we aim to bridge, such as the ratio of doctor and patient, healthcare services in rural vis-a-vis urban areas, and service quality. To ensure quality, we have introduced a quality accreditation system.
We are providing healthcare coverage to COVID patients and are partnering with the states. We are also covering the migrant population. We have imparted treatment worth Rs 15,000 crore. Several e-cards have been made. We are also running a robust call centre for beneficiary empowerment. The benefits are portable across the country and can be utilised and accessed from any location. More than 15,000 medical processes are covered under this scheme. We have covered 40% of India’s population.
We are also empowering private insurance players who lack the capacity to provide affordable insurance to all, including the middle class citizens. National Digital Healthcare scheme will revolutionise the healthcare ecosystem in India wherein the citizens will be able to access relevant information from their mobile phones and can take an informed decision. With these, we are moving towards achieving the dream of providing universal healthcare and health coverage.
