Kolkata: M R Bangur hospital is India’s best district hospital according to the announcement made by the Government of India’s NITI Aayog. It has been announced on Tuesday. West Bengal State Health Department has said that the hospital has been awarded best for 2018-19 year evaluation.
M R Bangur hospital of Tollygunge in the outskirts of Kolkata has been in news for last 1 year for performing well during the Covid pandemic. But this recognition comes based on the evaluation before the pandemic started.
The hospital has 700+ beds. The evaluation was made for 300+ bed hospitals in the country. Beds, services, operation system, etc was taken into the consideration during the evaluation.
Hospital super Shishir Naskar said,’ We are happy with this announcement. All staff and their tireless efforts has played a significant role in our achievement.’
