Bengaluru: BBMP opened 48 centres across the city to collect six types of reduce, reuse and recycle (RRR) materials as part of its “My Life, My Clean City” campaign.
The Palike started the initiative as part of Swachh Sarvekshan-2023 of Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0. The centres will accept six types of renewable and reusable items such as plastic carry bags, toys, used clothes, newspapers, old books, and electronic items from citizens. The main objective of these centres is to protect the environment by adopting sustainable lifestyles.
Solid Waste Management department officials requested the public, educational institutions, commercial establishments and industrial units to hand over six types of RRR materials to the centres. These centres will be open till June 5, 7am to 1pm.
BBMP has decided to issue e-certificates to those who participate in the campaign to encourage them. People who give more items will get a gift too.
