Lucknow: Every city and village of Uttar Pradesh will be receiving uninterrupted power supply, starting from Dhanteras till Diwali, M Devraj, the UP Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) chairman announced recently.
Devraj said, “As directed by the chief minister and the energy minister, we have made elaborate arrangements to ensure round–the–clock power supply to all the areas in the state from Dhanteras to Diwali.”
The UPPCL has taken measures to best equalise the increased demand for electricity during the festive season. They have activated 24/7 control rooms, one for each of the five distribution companies (discoms), to oversee power supply and handle consumer complaints.
Additionally, a central control room at Shakti Bhawan, staffed with senior officers, has been set up to maintain constant surveillance of power distribution.
Meanwhile, field officers have been instructed to prevent any power outages during the festival and promptly address any local faults that may arise.
“We have also asked officials to pay attention to preventive maintenance of transformers by ensuring they had proper oil, load balancing and earthing, etc. Also, discom officials and employees have been asked to attend and respond to calls made by consumers,” Devraj added.
