Lucknow: IAS officer Dr Vibha Chahal has been appointed as the Private Secretary to Sobha Karandlaje. Chahal is a 2012 batch IAS officer from UP cadre. Karandlaje is the Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Land & Employment.
According to a circular issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the competent authority approves the proposal. Officer Chahal’s service as Private Secretary will last until June 7th, 2027, as a five-year deputation or on a co-terminus basis. The appointment also could last until she quits to act as the Minister’s Private Secretary, or until further orders, whichever occurs first.
Dr Chahal became the Private Secretary to Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar, the then-Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, in May 2022.
