Gurugram: REC Limited, a CPSE under the Ministry of Power, has committed Rs.15 crore to provide free medical treatment and surgeries for 1,000 children born with congenital heart disease. This initiative targets children from economically weaker sections of society.
The memorandum of agreement (MoA) was signed by Taruna Gupta, executive director of CSR at REC Limited, and Vivek Gaur, Trustee of Sri Sathya Sai Health and Education Trust. The agreement was exchanged in the presence of Vivek Kumar Dewangan, REC Limited’s Chairman and Managing Director. This commitment aligns with REC’s earlier CSR project, ‘Healing Little Hearts,’ which also allocated Rs. 15 crore to treat one thousand children. The firm said that the initiative inspired REC to extend its support for a second year.
Through this effort, REC Limited said that the firm is reaffirming its dedication to social responsibility by ensuring that children with congenital heart disease receive life-saving medical care.
