Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the launch of a series of landmark projects in Ahmedabad including India’s first 20-coach Vande Bharat Express train. He also inaugurated the country’s first Vande Metro and several other Vande Bharat Express trains. These advancements aim to enhance connectivity and ease travel across various regions.
The highly anticipated 20-coach Vande Bharat train will connect Varanasi to Delhi whereas the inaugural Vande Metro service will connect Bhuj to Ahmedabad in order to revolutionize local commuting. The new Vande Bharat Express trains will run on key routes including Nagpur to Secunderabad, Kolhapur to Pune, Agra Cantt to Banaras, Durg to Visakhapatnam, and Pune to Hubballi.
In addition to the rail projects, other initiatives inaugurated by the PM are as follows:
Development initiatives including the quadrupling of the Samakhiali–Gandhidham and Gandhidham–Adipur railway lines, aimed at boosting rail capacity and efficiency valued at more than Rs. 8,000 crores.
Development of major roads under Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and the construction of flyover bridges at Bakrol, Hathijan, Ramol, and Panjarpol Junction.
Development of a 30 MW solar power system and a 35 Megawatt Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Solar PV Project at Kutch Lignite Thermal Power Station.
Sanctioning of 30,000 houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) and release of the first installment for these homes.
