New Delhi: State-owned Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has appointed Rajeev Prakash, Joint Secretary (Naval Systems) at the Department of Defence Production, as a Part-time Official Director. He replaced T. Natarajan on BEL’s Board.
Rajeev Prakash, a 1995-batch Indian Post & Telecommunication Accounts and Finance Service (IP&TAFS) officer brings substantial experience in finance and defense-related roles. Before joining the Department of Defence Production in June 2022, he served as Deputy Director General (Wireless Planning & Finance) at the Department of Telecommunications.
Prakash holds a B.A. (Honors) in English from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, and an M.A. in Development Studies from Erasmus University’s Institute of Social Studies. His finance and government administration background is expected to contribute to BEL’s strategic direction as a leading public sector enterprise in defense electronics.
BEL, known for its crucial role in defense production, frequently appoints officials from the Ministry of Defence to ensure alignment with national security objectives. The addition of Rajeev Prakash to its board underscores the continued integration of defense expertise within the organization’s governance.
