Mumbai: NTT DATA Payment Services India has appointed Syed Mohammad Zafar Alam as its new Chief Business Officer (CBO). With over 20 years of experience in the payment and banking sectors, Alam will lead the company’s strategic initiatives to expand business and strengthen partnerships in the growing fintech market.
Takeo Ueno, CEO of NTT DATA Payment Services India, expressed confidence in Alam’s ability to drive growth, citing his deep understanding of the Indian financial ecosystem. Alam’s previous roles include senior positions at Paytm Payment Services Ltd, where he served as Senior Vice President and Business Head, and leadership roles at Axis Bank and ICICI Bank. His background in fostering business growth and building strong client relationships is expected to play a key role in shaping NTT DATA’s growth trajectory.
In his statement, Alam highlighted the rapid expansion of India’s payment industry and expressed enthusiasm for contributing to NTT DATA’s customer-centric and innovation-focused approach. His appointment aligns with the company’s aim to solidify its position as one of the top three payment service providers in the country.
