New Delhi: The Indian Army and Indian Air Force have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, Vadodara, to enhance logistics skills and capabilities. The agreement was signed on September 9, 2024, in New Delhi, in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
This MoU will enable the two services to develop in-house expertise in logistics operations, aligning with national development plans such as the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan and the National Logistics Policy. Defence Minister Singh highlighted the growing importance of logistics in military operations, stating that an efficient system is vital for rapid mobilization and resource delivery in challenging environments.
The partnership aims to support India’s vision of self-reliance in the defence sector by fostering expertise in logistics through domestic resources. The MoU will also provide experiential learning through real-world case studies, helping to train future logistics managers equipped for modern warfare.
Minister Vaishnaw expressed confidence that Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya will play a crucial role in advancing logistics education, research, and innovation for the Armed Forces. Senior officials from the Ministries of Defence and Railways attended the event.
