New Delhi, August 31 (APAC Media): The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Pankaj Pandey for the post of Director (Operations) at Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID).
Pandey is currently serving as Executive Director (TBCB) at POWERGRID. He was among 12 candidates who appeared before the PESB panel for the senior management position.
Pandey Emerges as Recommended CandidateÂ
The selection process involved several senior executives from POWERGRID and other power-sector organisations. The candidates included Rajil Srivastava, Kailash Kumar Gupta, Doman Yadav, L.K. Khajkumar, Sanjay Sharma and Abhinav Verma.
Akhilesh Kumar Dixit, Gyaneshwar Prasad Payasi, Pradeep Kumar, Arvind Kumar Pandey and Kuleshwar Sahu were also among those who appeared before the selection panel.
Appointment Awaits Government Approval
The Director (Operations) position is currently held by Naveen Srivastava, whose tenure is scheduled to end on November 30, 2026, following his superannuation.
Pandey’s appointment will be subject to the required clearances and approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
If approved, Pandey will oversee key operational functions at POWERGRID and contribute to the company’s transmission operations.
POWERGRID is a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power and plays a key role in India’s inter-state electricity transmission network.
