New Delhi: Pankaj Agrawal, currently serving as Secretary in the Ministry of Power, has been assigned additional responsibilities as the Secretary of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH).
Agrawal, a 1992-batch IAS officer from the Madhya Pradesh cadre, takes over the role after the post was vacated by Anurag Jain. He will hold the position temporarily until a new appointment is made or further government orders are issued. Agrawal’s appointment comes at a time when the Ministry is managing significant national infrastructure projects, adding weight to his dual responsibility.
The government has not yet announced a permanent replacement for Jain, leaving Agrawal with the task of overseeing two crucial ministries in parallel. The dual charge reflects ongoing transitions within the Central Government, and Agrawal’s role will be crucial in maintaining continuity across both ministries during this period of change.
