New Delhi: Tata Technologies and BMW Holding B.V. have completed the formation of BMW TechWorks India Private Limited (BTIPL), a joint venture aimed at driving digital transformation for the BMW Group. BTIPL, incorporated in July 2024, will focus on developing software-defined vehicle (SDV) solutions and automotive tech to enhance BMW’s digital capabilities.
With an initial investment of Rs 1,00,000, both Tata Technologies and BMW Holding B.V. now hold equal shares in BTIPL. This move transformed what was once a Tata subsidiary into a partnership aimed at advancing BMW’s tech goals in the Indian market.
BTIPL’s role will center on providing business IT services and engineering solutions to support BMW’s digital evolution. By integrating advanced vehicle software systems, BTIPL is set to strengthen BMW’s digital infrastructure and customer experience initiatives. Operating with an authorized share capital of Rs 10,00,000, this joint venture will allow both companies to jointly steer BMW’s tech strategy in India, tapping into Tata’s automotive expertise to support the next phase of BMW’s digital journey.
