New Delhi: Indian Railways is gearing up to launch a new super app by December 2024, bringing a range of services under one platform to make train travel easier for passengers. This app, separate from the current IRCTC app, will combine features like ticket booking, platform passes, food delivery, and real-time train updates.
With this app, passengers will be able to book tickets, choose seats, and apply for concessions all in one place, streamlining the reservation process. For the first time, platform passes will be available digitally, allowing passengers to buy and verify passes at station gates through the app. The food delivery feature will also let travelers order meals directly to their seats, with tracking available for added convenience.
Real-time updates on train running status will keep passengers informed of delays and arrival times, helping them better plan their journeys. Indian Railways aims to simplify the travel experience with this app, making it a convenient tool for millions who rely on railways every day.
