New Delhi: IRCTC has teamed up with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to launch a special Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train named the “Pravasi Bhartiya Express.” The agreement was signed by IRCTC CMD Sanjay Kumar Jain and MEA Secretary Arun Kumar Chatterjee.
Starting January 9, 2025, the train will take passengers on a 15-day journey from Delhi, covering key heritage and pilgrimage sites across seven states. The launch is planned to coincide with Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas. The initiative is part of the Pravasi Teerth Darshan Yojana, aimed at helping overseas Indians reconnect with their roots.
This joint effort between IRCTC and the MEA seeks to promote cultural tourism by offering a closer look at India’s historical and religious landmarks.
