Raipur: The Chhatisgarh Government has undertaken a significant bureaucratic reshuffle under which it has announced the transfers and fresh postings of four officers of the Indian Police Service (IPS).
According to an official order issued by the Chhatisgarh Government Police Department, IPS Lal Umed Singh (1996 batch), has been appointed as the new Superintendent of Police (SP) of Raipur. Singh has an extensive career in the police force and has served in multiple roles in districts including Bastar, Raigarh, Korba, Raipur, and Durg. He is known for his involvement in Naxal encounters and was also part of the Intelligence Wing at the Police Headquarters (PHQ) between 2015 and 2017.
Other transfers include:
IPS Santosh Kumar Singh (2011 batch) has been appointed Assistant Inspector General of Police at the Police Headquarters in Atal Nagar, Raipur, until further orders.
IPS Suraj Singh Parihar (2015 batch) will take charge of the 14th Battalion in Dhanora, District Balod. Additionally, IPS Ravi Kurre has been made the new Superintendent of Police for Korea for the 18th Battalion in Manendragarh.
IPS Harish Rathore has been assigned as the Chief Minister’s Security Superintendent of Police (SP), overseeing the state’s VIP security. Rathore was previously in charge of the VIP Battalion Mana and will now focus on ensuring the safety of the Chief Minister.
