Mumbai: Statiq, a major player in India’s electric vehicle (EV) charging sector, has partnered with Vertelo, an electric mobility solutions provider, to address critical gaps in the country’s EV charging infrastructure. The collaboration focuses on co-developing EV charging sites and deploying reliable charging solutions to support the growing demand for electric mobility.
Under this partnership, Statiq will provide EV chargers, a technology platform, and manage the complete execution of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services. Vertelo will contribute its expertise in financing and fleet management to ensure efficient deployment and operation of these chargers across urban and semi-urban areas.
Statiq currently operates over 7,000 EV chargers in 65 cities and has plans to expand this network to 20,000 chargers by 2025. This collaboration is a significant step toward achieving that target. By combining Statiq’s technical capabilities with Vertelo’s financial and fleet electrification expertise, the partnership aims to simplify the transition to EVs and encourage broader adoption.
The initiative aligns with India’s goal of accelerating the shift to electric mobility, which is essential for reducing vehicular emissions and meeting sustainability targets. Industry experts believe that such partnerships are critical to overcoming infrastructure challenges that often hinder the adoption of EVs in the country.
Both companies have highlighted that the effort is not just about increasing the number of chargers but ensuring that the infrastructure is accessible, functional, and adaptable to future needs. With India’s EV market expected to grow significantly in the coming years, collaborations like this are seen as key to building a sustainable electric mobility ecosystem.
This partnership could serve as a model for other stakeholders in the EV space, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts in addressing the infrastructural and financial challenges of EV adoption.
