Punjab Govt. Appoints IAS Ajoy Kumar Sinha as CMD, PSPCL

Chandigarh: Senior IAS officer Ajoy Kumar Sinha has been assigned an additional charge as the Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd. (PSPCL) following the retirement of Baldev Singh Sran. He will hold the position until a permanent appointment is made.

Sinha, a 1996-batch IAS officer, is currently serving as Principal Secretary, Finance, and also holds additional responsibilities as Principal Secretary, Power; Principal Secretary, New & Renewable Energy Sources; and CMD of Punjab State Transmission Corporation Ltd.

The Punjab government has entrusted him with the additional PSPCL charge to ensure continuity in leadership while the search for a regular CMD is underway. Given his extensive experience in power and finance sectors, Sinha is expected to play a crucial role in managing Punjab’s energy infrastructure and driving reforms in the state’s power sector.
