Kolkata: The West Bengal government is bringing in self-paced digital content in mathematics for students from Class VII onwards till Higher Secondary level. The idea is to alleviate the phobia about mathematics most students possess, which often leads to impacting their overall performances.
The State Council of Education Research and Training under the State School Education Department is creating this digital content which will be on a self-paced learning mode for the students.
Accordingly, the project has been given the headline “Nije Pora, Nije Shekha” and the students have been explained about the concept of self-paced learning.
In addition, visual content modules have also been added in the ambit of this digital content program. Earlier this system was started for English, and now Mathematics has been added to the roster.
During self-paced learning sessions, students can connect to teachers in any instance where they might get stuck on any concept. In turn, if the teachers themselves get stuck, they can seek clarity from ‘educators’ incorporated in the digital content module.
The idea is to ensure students better comprehend the concepts of mathematics through regular learning and practice. In turn, this would help them get rid of the unnecessary phobia around mathematics.
