Bhubaneswar: Ashok Kumar Sehgal, Head of Project at NTPC Talcher Kaniha (Odisha), has been promoted to the position of Executive Director. With this elevation, he will continue to drive NTPC’s strategic growth and operational excellence.
A seasoned power sector professional, Sehgal has been associated with NTPC since 1989, when he joined as an Executive Trainee at NSPCL Durgapur. Over the years, he has held key roles at NTPC Dadri, NTPC Mouda, NTPC Vindhyanchal and the Corporate OS Department at EOC Noida, gaining expertise in commissioning, operations, maintenance, and ash dyke management.
Sehgal joined NTPC Kaniha in August 2022 as General Manager (Maintenance) and was promoted to General Manager (O&M) in November 2022. On 1 January 2024, he took charge as the Head of Project at NTPC Talcher Kaniha.
An alumnus of IIT Delhi, Sehgal holds an M.Tech in Power Engineering and a Post Graduate Diploma in Finance from IGNOU. He has undergone specialized training in power plant management at premier institutions in India and abroad, including an advanced management program in Silicon Valley, the US.
Known for his employee-centric leadership, Sehgal has been instrumental in NTPC Kaniha’s achievements and community development initiatives. His leadership has contributed to the plant’s operational efficiency and socio-economic development in the region.
