Bhopal: A cabinet meeting chaired by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav at the Secretariat saw the approval of several major policy decisions, including initiatives in early childhood education, agricultural incentives, land digitization, and forest reorganization.
Rs 30.56 Crore Approved for “Poshan Bhi – Padhai Bhi” Training Program
The cabinet approved Rs 30.56 crore allocation for the implementation of the ‘Poshan Bhi – Padhai Bhi’ training program under the Centrally Sponsored ‘Saksham Anganwadi and Nutrition 2.0’ Scheme.
The initiative aligns with the Government of India’s guidelines and aims to:
- Stimulate early childhood learning during the first 1,000 days.
- Promote Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) for children aged 3 to 6 years.
- Equip Anganwadi workers with educational training.
- Provide high-quality, play-based learning for young children.
The program will enhance the capacity of Anganwadi workers and train one Child Development Project Officer and three supervisors as master trainers.
Rs 138.41 Crore Allocated for Digitization of Revenue Land Records
To accelerate land record modernization, the cabinet approved Rs 138.41 crore (including taxes) for the pending digitization of revenue land records under the Digital India Land Records Modernization Program.
The Madhya Pradesh Land Records Management Committee (MPLRS) will oversee the digitization process, which will be carried out via an open tender system. This move is expected to improve land transparency and governance in the state.
Wheat Procurement at Rs 2,600 per Quintal for Rabi Marketing Year 2025-26
In a boost to farmers, the cabinet increased the bonus on wheat procurement from Rs 125 to Rs 175 per quintal, setting the final procurement price at Rs 2,600 per quintal for the Rabi Marketing Year 2025-26.
To facilitate this, the state government will spend Rs. 1,400 crore to procure 80 lakh metric tonnes of wheat. This decision is expected to significantly support wheat farmers by ensuring fair pricing and improved earnings.
Rs 4,000 Per Hectare Incentive for Paddy Farmers
In another pro-farmer move, the cabinet approved a Rs 4,000 per hectare incentive for farmers selling paddy under the Kharif Marketing Season 2024. The scheme will incur a state expenditure of Rs 480 crore, benefiting 6.70 lakh farmers and covering 12.20 lakh hectares of paddy cultivation.
This incentive aims to encourage paddy production and improve financial support for farmers.
Reorganization of Forest Divisions in Chhindwara and Pandhurna
The cabinet approved the reorganisation of three forest divisions within the Chhindwara Forest Circle, affecting both Chhindwara and the newly formed Pandhurna district. The decision entails:
- 662.742 sq. km of South Chhindwara Forest Division merging into the newly created Pandhurna Forest Division.
- 293.944 sq. km being allocated to East and West Chhindwara Forest Divisions.
- Dissolution of the South Chhindwara Forest Division and redistribution of staff among the three restructured divisions.
This reorganization aims to streamline forest administration and ensure effective management of natural resources.
These initiatives reflect the MP government’s commitment to holistic development and welfare in the state.
