Bhopal. May 12 (APAC Media): The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, has sanctioned development projects and welfare initiatives worth more than ₹29,540 crore, marking one of the state’s largest funding approvals in recent years.
Rs 6,900 Crore Approved for Urban Roads and Connectivity
To improve urban infrastructure development, certain projects have been approved:
- Construction of new urban roads
- Strengthening of existing city road network
- Upgradation of municipal transport infrastructure
Old Age Pension Scheme
The cabinet also approved Rs 6,115.99 crore under the National Social Assistance Programme for the continuation of the Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme for five years beginning April 2026.
Key highlights of the scheme include:
- Monthly pension of ₹600
- Financial support for senior citizens living BPL
New Medical College and Hospital Approved in Budni
To strengthen healthcare infrastructure and medical education, the cabinet approved the establishment of a new medical institution in Budni, located in Sehore district. The project will include:
- An MBBS medical college
- A 500-bed hospital
- A nursing college with 60 seats
State Traders’ Welfare Board to Be Formed
In another key decision, the state approved the formation of a State Traders’ Welfare Board. The board will focus on:
- Addressing traders’ grievances
- Improving coordination between traders and the government
- Conducting regular review meetings for implementation
Focus on Long-Term Growth and Infrastructure Modernisation
The latest cabinet decisions reflect the Madhya Pradesh government’s broader focus on infrastructure modernisation, social welfare expansion, healthcare development, and economic reforms.
