New Delhi, May 12 (APAC Media): Government-backed e-commerce platform DigiHaat has launched “Swadeshi,” a dedicated digital marketplace aimed at promoting authentic “Made-in-Bharat” products and strengthening local production ecosystems across the country.
The initiative has been introduced in alignment with the vision of building an Atmanirbhar Bharat through Swadeshi-driven commerce.
DigiHaat, which operates within the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) ecosystem, said the platform will directly connect consumers with Indian artisans, farmer groups, self-help groups (SHGs), NGOs, and domestic brands.
Platform to Feature Curated Bharat-Made Products
The ‘Swadeshi’ marketplace will function within the DigiHaat app and offer a wide range of products, including food grains, seed products, apparel, handicrafts, home décor items, bags, and other daily essentials sourced from Indian producers.
According to the company, more than 2,000 artisans and over 1,100 farmer groups from different parts of the country are already connected to the platform.
Rahul Vij, Chief Operating Officer of DigiHaat, said the marketplace has been designed to strengthen India’s economic fabric by bringing local producers closer to consumers. He stated that every purchase through the platform would support grassroots enterprises, reduce dependence on global supply chains, and contribute towards the broader goal of a self-reliant India.
The launch comes as DigiHaat continues expanding its digital commerce ecosystem. Earlier in April, the platform introduced metro ticketing services across Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru as part of its effort to evolve into a unified digital commerce platform.
