Ranchi: The Jharkhand government has transferred seven Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, including IPS Anil Palta, in a recent administrative reshuffle, affecting key positions in law enforcement.
The move, announced by the Home, Prison and Disaster Management Department, aims to reorganize police leadership across various sectors, including rail security and fire services.
Anil Palta Appointed DG Rail, MS Bhatia to Lead Fire Services
Senior IPS officer Anil Palta, a 1990-batch officer, has been appointed as the new Director General (DG) of Rail.
He was previously serving as the DG of Home Guard Corps cum Fire Services. Replacing him, 1993-batch officer MS Bhatia, who recently returned from central deputation, will now take over as DG of Home Guard Corps cum Fire Services.
Key Changes in Other Departments
The reshuffle also includes changes in other police divisions:
Pankaj Kamboj (2005 batch): Promoted from IG Provision to Managing Director of Jharkhand Police Housing Corporation Limited.
Shubham Kumar Khandelwal (2021 batch): Posted as SDPO Simaria.
Gaurav Goswami (2021 batch): Assigned as SDPO Patratu.
Vedant Shankar (2022 batch): Appointed as SDPO Kisko Lohardaga.
Shivam Prakash (2022 batch): Posted as SDPO Chakradharpur.
The government’s notification also stated that officers awaiting new postings would be temporarily assigned to the Police Headquarters.
The transfers are expected to enhance coordination within the state’s police force, particularly in rail security and infrastructure management.
