Mumbai: London Business School and Imarticus Learning have introduced a Chief Financial Officer (India) Programme to equip finance professionals with leadership and strategic skills for C-suite roles.
The initiative responds to the growing need for CFOs to take on broader responsibilities beyond finance, including digital transformation and global financial strategy.
Bridging the CFO Skill Gap in India
The role of CFOs in India has evolved significantly, with 86 per cent of Indian CFOs reporting an expansion of their responsibilities beyond traditional finance functions. Many are now expected to lead digital transformation, IT strategy, and business operations.
Additionally, 84 per cent of CFOs are tasked with spearheading organizational changes, highlighting the demand for financial leaders who can navigate complex business environments.
The programme is designed for finance professionals with over ten years of experience looking to transition into senior leadership roles. It covers critical areas such as risk management, mergers and acquisitions, corporate strategy, and valuation.
Programme Structure and Global Exposure
Participants will undergo a blended learning experience, including a five-day training session in Mumbai with London Business School faculty and a five-day immersion in London. The international component aims to provide exposure to global financial trends and best practices.
Nikhil Barshikar, Founder & CEO of Imarticus Learning, emphasized the need for financial leaders to develop strategic thinking amid economic uncertainties and technological disruptions.
Helen Kerkentzes, Associate Dean of Executive Education at London Business School, highlighted the partnership’s goal of enhancing leadership capabilities among finance professionals.
Rising Demand for Strategic CFOs
With India’s evolving financial sector and increasing regulatory complexities, CFOs are expected to play a more significant role in driving business growth.
