Kolkata: The West Bengal education department has enhanced the security of the Education Portal following the vulnerabilities exposed during the tab scam.
As per a notification by the education department, dated 4 April, no one can now just log in to the Education Portal using a login ID and password. Instead, they will also require an OTP to complete the login process.
School authorities can access any government project portal, from Taruner Swapna to Kanyashree, only upon OTP verification.
The OTP will only be sent to the associated school headmaster’s mobile number, making them responsible for any discrepancies.
All district school inspectors have been informed about the procedure. On the 10th, 20th and 25th of April, all associated headmasters have to send all relevant information to their respective circle offices.
This information includes the names, mobile numbers, and Aadhaar numbers of the headmasters. Subsequently, AI will be deployed to register these details and generate passwords. The login process will be activated upon approval from the district school inspectors.
