Lucknow: In a significant administrative overhaul, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced the transfers and fresh postings of four officers of the Indian Police Service (IPS). One of the major appointments includes the appointment of senior IPS Rajeev Krishna as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of the state.Â
A 1991 batch IPS officer, Krishna replaces IPS Prashant Kumar and brings with him a reputation for integrity and efficient leadership. Until now, he served as DG Vigilance and Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, where he was widely praised for conducting a fair and transparent police recruitment process without any reported incidents of malpractice.
The list of other transfers includes:
- IPS PC Meena, also from the 1991 batch, has been given additional charge as Director General of Police and CMD of the Police Housing Corporation, along with Director General of Prison Administration and Correctional Services.
- IPS Ashutosh Pandey, a 1992 batch officer recently elevated to the rank of DGP, has been appointed Director General of Police, Telecom.Â
- IPS Neera Rawat, also from the 1992 batch, has been entrusted with dual responsibilities — as DGP of the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) and with additional charge of UP-112, the state’s emergency response system.
The reshuffle reflects the government’s focus on strengthening administrative efficiency and law enforcement infrastructure across Uttar Pradesh.
