New Delhi: Netweb Technologies has secured a Rs 1,734 crore order to build artificial intelligence servers powered by Nvidia’s Blackwell architecture, marking a significant development in India’s efforts to expand domestic AI compute capacity. The company said the order will support the IndiaAI Mission, which seeks to build sovereign AI systems and reduce reliance on foreign infrastructure. Delivery of the systems is expected between the fourth quarter of FY26 and the first half of FY27.
The servers will be built through Netweb’s Tyrone Camarero AI platform, with each node equipped with Nvidia’s HGX B200 accelerators. These GPUs are designed to handle high-throughput and memory-intensive workloads, a capability crucial for training and deploying large-scale AI models. The move reflects the government’s broader strategy to strengthen India’s AI ecosystem in line with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
Following the announcement, Netweb’s shares rose 7.91% to Rs 2,446.80 on the Bombay Stock Exchange by midday Wednesday, indicating investor confidence in the company’s role within India’s AI infrastructure plans. However, Netweb clarified that the order is not included in its formal financial guidance and should not be extrapolated into future forecasts. The financial impact will be accounted for during the execution period of the project.
The development highlights the growing role of domestic technology firms in building AI infrastructure that aligns with national strategic goals. It also underscores the increasing importance of sovereign compute capabilities as India seeks to strengthen its position in the global AI landscape.
