New Delhi: As part of an initiative to mark its Centenary Year (1925–2025), the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has launched a dedicated portal titled ‘My UPSC Interview: From Dream to Reality’.
The platform aims to capture and document the memoirs and first-person narratives of officers who have appeared in the UPSC Personality Test (Interview) during their journey to becoming public servants.
Objectives of the Portal
The portal is designed to document diverse and inspiring experiences of candidates who appeared for the UPSC Personality Test. It will serve as a repository of memorable moments from the selection process, highlighting the life-changing nature of the UPSC Interview and how it has shaped public service careers. The initiative also aims to inspire future aspirants by sharing real-life accounts of challenges, turning points, and motivational experiences from the interview process.
Eligibility and Submission Guidelines
The portal is open to all serving or retired members of services and organizations under the Government of India who have appeared in the Interview/Personality Test of the UPSC Civil Services Examination or other UPSC exams in any year. Submissions must be self-written; entries submitted on behalf of others will not be accepted.
Entries should be typed in English or Hindi, with a word count ranging from 250 to 2,000 words. Contributors are encouraged to focus on their personal experiences before the UPSC Interview Board, key impressions or turning points, and any motivational anecdotes. All content must be original, non-defamatory, and plagiarism-free.
Review, Publication, and Recognition
A dedicated Screening Committee will review all submissions. UPSC reserves the right to edit content for clarity and language while preserving the core message. Selected entries may be published in digital or print formats, and extracts could be used in official outreach, events, and publications. The Commission’s decision regarding selection and publication is final. Authors of shortlisted entries may receive UPSC Centenary Memorabilia or a Special Centenary Postage Stamp, though no monetary compensation will be provided.
With this initiative, UPSC aims to celebrate its centenary by creating a lasting archive of personal journeys that have contributed to India’s civil services, inspiring future generations of public servants.
