Kolkata: The Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) in Anandapur, Kolkata, will provide significantly faster service to senior citizens, parents with infants, and applicants who share documents via DigiLocker.
The PSK has launched an S-Token system to prioritise vulnerable or time-sensitive applicants, substantially reducing their waiting time. For senior citizens and parents with infants, S-Tokens are issued, and these applications are processed on a Tatkal basis.
Applicants who enable access to their DigiLocker are being routed to a special counter. There, the verification process is fast-tracked, as officials can instantly validate DigiLock records. Applicants opting for this route should download the DigiLocker app. They should then fetch documents like Aadhar, PAN, voter ID, or education certificates directly from the repository before linking them to the Passport Seva portal.
For individuals with urgent travel needs, the passport office also allows emergency walk-in appointments.
