Raipur: Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) Limited has signed a major Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Chhattisgarh to support housing and urban infrastructure projects across the state.
The agreement involves financial assistance of up to Rs. 1 lakh crore over the next five years and marks one of the largest urban development partnerships for the state.
Under the MoU, HUDCO will provide structured financing for a wide range of infrastructure projects. These include water supply systems, sewerage and drainage networks, urban roads, solid waste management facilities, power projects, and renewable energy initiatives. The partnership aims to strengthen core urban services and support sustainable infrastructure growth in cities and towns across Chhattisgarh.
A key focus of the agreement is the promotion of affordable housing. The collaboration seeks to ensure that urban expansion remains inclusive and that housing benefits reach economically weaker and middle-income groups. HUDCO will extend both financial and technical support to help the state plan and execute housing projects in a timely and efficient manner.
The MoU emphasizes long-term and assured funding, allowing the state government to undertake large-scale infrastructure projects with greater financial certainty. The partnership is expected to generate employment, strengthen urban planning, and improve the resilience of urban systems.
